About
I am a PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Victoria working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, archives, and digital humanities. My research focuses on large-scale text recognition and analysis of historical documents, including newspapers, maps, and archival records. I develop open-source tools and evaluation frameworks for OCR and vision-language models to help libraries and archives determine which AI systems perform best on real cultural heritage materials. My work emphasizes reproducible pipelines, open science practices, and responsible AI use in memory institutions.
In my spare time, I like to craft things.
